In 2010 he worked with world renowned fashion designer Dirk Bikkembergs to bring the world a live fashion show that was filmed at the foot of table mountain in Cape Town and staged in the Piazza del Duomo, Milan Fashion week, a first of its kind on the continent.

Over the 2010 World Cup he worked on the highly publicised ‘Bavaria Babes ambush marketing campaign’ that shocked the footballing world at the 2010 World Cup, a campaign that reached over 350 million people across the globe.

He also started a production company called Lankrad Pictures producing for director Brad Schaffer, together they landed several TV commercials and stills campaigns with clients such as PEP stores, The Last Word Hotel chain and The Western Cape Government .

Highlights for 2012 -Marcos photographed and directed the TV commercial for the Fondle  campaigns staring South African Celebrity line up Tracy Megregor, Roxy Lowe and Vanessa Haywood which saw huge press coverage throughout the year.

In addition to this Marcos and Brad also initiated co-opTV.com, an on-line broadcaster that aims to empower communities through local discerning content, too date the platform has over 450 videos and has seen success campaigns for the Western Cape Government with over 350 000 views.

Marcos also produced and photographed the high controversial reality series titled 'Walk the Walk', which saw Marc Burher and Shane McChonnachie take to the streets for 7 days and 7 nights living as homeless people. The series saw Marc and Shane interact with the public on a live video blog daily. This story went viral hitting major news papers around the country and having a host on interviews on radio and television.

Marcos currently lives with his family and works out of Cape Town.

About Marcos Cruz

In 2002 Marcos Cruz obtained an advertising degree at Inscape Design, he went straight to work as a designer in one of Joburg’s top advertising agencies. He soon relocated to Cape Town where he worked on international and local commercials with some of the world’s leading commercial directors.

Within 3 years he opened his own stills and film production company, which quickly became one of South Africa’s biggest servicing production houses in the Tv commercial sector. Marcos has produced over 500 TV commercials and advertising campaigns world wide.

His first short film, “Birds, Bees and Advertising”,  won several awards and in 2004 he took home ‘Best overall Vuka award’ for the very successful ‘Beautiful’ commercial for the Aids Foundation.

In 2008 Marcos turned his attention to his first love photography. He has since photographed campaigns for DSTV, Microsoft, MTV Europe, South African Tourism. In the same year he took home Sony Profoto awards in the Fashion and Still life categories, he currently shoots for many fashion houses around the world and his work has been seen in publication across the globe.

In 2009 he worked on the highly publicised feature film 'The Bang Bang Club' with a list of A list celebrities and renowned Photographers Greg Marinovich and Joao Silva. Marcos's role on the movie was recreating the award winning images for the film.
